- General Dentistry is a type of preventative dentistry with services such as teeth cleanings and fluoride treatments.
- Children's Dentistry provides specific dental care for children.
- Cosmetic Dentistry includes services for whitening, veneers and crowns.
- Restorative Dentistry provides services such as dentures, bridges and implants to help restore lost or damaged teeth.
- Temporomandibular (TMJ) therapy works with the two joints in front of the ears that allow movement of the jaws. Symptoms of TMJ may include: noises in front of ear while opening and closing the mouth, dull face pain, earaches, headaches or migraines (especially in the morning).
- Oral Conscious Sedation services is an effective and safe way to help patients with anxiety or fear associated with going to the dentist. The safe technique uses medication or “laughing gas” to relax the patient and provide for a pleasant visit to the dentist. In fact, some patients sleep through the treatment.

Dr. Virginia Plaisted – Delmar Dentist (general dentistry)
Dr. Virginia Plaisted received her DDS from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland in 1981. She is a member of the ADA, AGD, Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club. She has continued her education with an emphasis on the Pankey philosophy and received her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2000. Dr. Plaisted has been actively involved as a senior consultant for the Dental Advisor for over 10 years and served on the Council of Innovative Dentistry through 3M for seven years. Throughout her career, she has spent much time with elder dental care and dental care in nursing homes. Dr. Plaisted has been taking digital impressions for all of her crown and bridge patients for more than four years.
Dr. Plaisted started her private practice in 1982 and affiliated with 1st Advantage Dental of New York in 2007. She is vice-president of clinical affairs for 1st Advantage Dental of New York, and is actively involved with growing this group. For the last 15 years, she has been a member of the board of directors for Pupils Benefit Fund, the last not-for-profit insurance company in the United States.
Dr. Plaisted has raised three children while working and appreciates the challenges of balancing one’s life. Now that child rearing is over, Dr. Plaisted enjoys hiking and quilting.
